On the BBC flagship political programme Question Time on Thursday, the panel was asked by an audience member: "How far would Donald Trump have to go before our government formally rescinded his invitation for a state visit?"

Conservative party Minister for Prisons Sam Gyimah was a panellist, and when answering the question he praised Prime Minister Theresa May's condemnation of Donald Trump retweeting videos from the far-right group Britain First. In doing so, Gyimah quoted the ineffable Albus Dumbledore.

He also said he was, "deeply uncomfortable" at the prospect of a state visit from the POTUS. Viewers of the programme were pretty taken aback to hear a Conservative politician quoting Harry Potter. For some it was a welcome surprise, others were less impressed.
